My Apologies

I'm sorry, but procrastination reigns, and I've put off making arrangements for the Christmas party far too long. The end result is that there won't be a VanLUG Christmas party this year. I'll try to make it up by having some especially good talks for 2010.

Companies such as Apple have led the way to freedom in the past few
years. During this time a movement has begun to bring accessibility to
main stream projects. In a little more than four months since iPhone

Hackerspaces: Making, Sharing, Hacking and Doing Things
Joe Bowser

Bob McCartney from Recall http://recall.com/ will do a short presentation on Recalls data protection and information management services.

Joe Bowser will then talk about hackerspaces in general and specifically VHS , the Vancouver Hacker Space http://vancouver.hackspace.ca/doku.php. The hackerspace movement is a relatively new movement of collaborative spaces throughout the world. These spaces, called "YMCA for geeks", are places where Makers, Crafters, Hackers and other people who have knowledge to share and projects to do can come together to work on them in a collaborative atmosphere.

See you in September!

As usual no VanLUG meetings are scheduled for July and August. The next season will get underway 21 September 2009.
